  1. The Primary One Registration (Intake 2009) for children born between 2 Jan 2002 and 1 Jan 2003 will begin in July. Registration will be held from 8.00am to 11.00am and from 2.30pm to 4.30pm. Parents registering their children under Phase 1 are not required to register at the school. The application will be done through their elder siblings in GMS(P). If your child is eligible for Phase 1 but you did not receive the application form, please come to the school to register personally by 1 July. We will be having 10 Primary 1 classes of 30 pupils each in 2009.

  3. National Day Celebrations will be held on Friday, 8 August. School hours will be from 7.15am to 9.30am for both sessions. Please make the necessary transport arrangements for your child. 9 August is on Saturday and the following Monday, 11 August is a school holiday.
  4. The dates for the Primary 6 Preliminary Examination and PSLE Examination are as shown in the table below. Only the Primary 6 pupils are to report to school on 14 & 15 August. There will be no lessons for Primary 1 to Primary 5 pupils on these 2 days.

  6. In commemoration of Racial Harmony Day, which falls on 21 July (Monday), the school will be having a RH Food and Games Day on 18 July. The objectives of the fair are:
  7. a) to promote cultural awareness / racial interactions and
    b) raise funds for needy pupils in our school and Geylang Senior Citizens' Health care
    ﹛centre
    c) to promote the school values of Cooperation and Compassion.
  8. A talk for parents with children in Primary 6 will be held on 25 July at 5.30pm in the school hall. The talk will be on the different types of secondary schools, the Primary School Leaving Examination (PSLE) as well as other important information regarding the education system. Please complete the response slip and return it to the P6 form teacher by 11 July.
  9. There will be a talk conducted for parents with children in Primary 4 and 5 regarding 'Subject-Based-Banding' (SBB) on Friday, 1 August at 5.30pm. For parents who want to find out more about how the school is going to implement SBB, it is important that priority be given to attend this talk. Please complete the response slip and return to the form teacher by 11 July.
  10. The printing of worksheets for Term 3 & 4 will cost $8.00 per pupil (all pupils from Primary 1 to 6). Please pay $8.00 to the form teacher through your child/ward by 30 June, together with the completed response slip below.
  11. Teachers' Day Celebrations will be held on Friday, 29 August. It will also be the ACES (All Children Exercise Simultaneously) Day, an event to encourage all children to exercise and to keep a healthy lifestyle.
  12. Due to the delay in the completion of the covered walkway outside our school, Gate 1 will remain closed. Pupils are to continue using Gate 2. Any inconvenience is regretted.
  13. The Term 3 school vacation will be from 30 August to 7 September. Pupils are strongly encouraged to use this vacation to diligently revise their work so that they will be prepared for the second semestral examinations. Consent forms will be given to pupils who require extra coaching by teachers. Meanwhile, we encourage you to continue to support your child/ward and to reinforce the lessons taught in school.
