1. Wear the full uniform for school and at all school functions
2. Be punctual for school and all school activities
3. Keep the premises clean and tidy
4. Be honest in word and deed
5. Respect your teachers and elders
6. Be helpful and courteous
7. Co-operate with the monitors and prefects
8. Live up to your school motto

Pupils are also expected to observe the following guidelines:

Assembly

1) Stand at attention.
2) Respect the state flag and school flag
3) Pupils who are Singapore citizens must sing the National Anthem and say the Pledge. Pupils will take the Pledge with the right fist over the heart.

Recess

1) Queue up when buying food in the canteen.
2) Observe proper table manners.
3) Food and drinks must be consumed only in the canteen. Used utensils must be returned to the respective receptacles provided.
4) Queue up when buying things from the school bookshop.
5) Do not play or run in the canteen.
6) Do not stay in the classroom during recess unless a teacher is present.

Movement in School

1) Always keep to the left and follow the footprints when walking up and down the stairs.
2) Move in a quiet and orderly manner from point to point and along corridors and staircases.
3) Learn to whisper and not shout.

Attendance

1) Pupils must come to school on time and leave school only after dismissal.
2) Pupils are not allowed to leave the school premises during school hours without the permission of the Principal, Vice-Principal or Head of Department. Any such act will be considered an act of truancy.
3) A pupil who needs to leave school early must fill in the early departure book in the General Office. He/She will be allowed to go home if accompanied by a parent/guardian.
4) Absence from school must be covered by a medical certificate or a letter from the parent/guardian giving the reason for the absence.
5) Absence from tests and examinations must be covered by a medical certificate.

Other Procedures

1) A pupil who leaves the class to go to the toilet or to run errands for the teacher must wear the permission tag.
2) Pupils must not lose their student pass.
3) For security reasons, a parent/guardian who wishes to see his/her child/ward must first report to the Security Post with their IC. No visitor is allowed to see a pupil without the permission from the General Office.
Parents/Guardians should make an appointment if they wish to see a teacher or the Principal.
4) Parents/Guardians should make photocopies of their child¡¯s/ward¡¯s results slips for SA1 and SA2 for their own use.
5) Application forms for bursary awards and financial assistance are available at the General Office.

Student Attire

Pupils must be in full school uniform when they are in school , attending school functions and when representing the school at external functions.
Pupils are to wear the prescribed school uniform. Any modification to the uniform is not allowed. The Name tag must be ironed on.
Pupils are to come to school in their P.E .attire only on days when they have P.E. lessons.

Shoes

1) Pupils must wear clean and white canvas shoes with GMPS/white socks above ankle-length.
2) Pupils should not wear slippers and sandals unless supported by medical reasons.
3) Sports and track shoes are allowed to be worn only during CCAs related to sports and games.

Hairstyles

1) Pupils should not sport outlandish hairstyles. They should not perm, gel, highlight or colour their hair.
2) Boy¡¯s hair must be short, slope-cut , neat and well-groomed. The fringe must not fall across the forehead and touch the eyebrows. There should be no sideburns. Boys should be clean shaven and no beard nor moustache is allowed.
3) Girls with short hair should be neat and tidy. Girls with long hair (i.e. hair at or beyond their shoulders) should tie up their hair neatly. Only black or navy blue ribbons/hair bands are allowed. The fringe must not fall across the forehead and touch the eyebrows.

Accessories

1) Earrings for Girls: One stud/ring earring on each ear. Only gold or silver studs/ring earrings are allowed. No dangling/fanciful earrings are allowed.
2) Spectacle frames should not be colourful/fanciful.
3) Jewellery and expensive/fanciful watches/fanciful spectacle frames are not allowed.

Responsible Ownership

Ensure that your belongings (such as school bag, uniform, jacket, water bottle, food container and books) have your names and classes written or pasted on them. In this way, if things are misplaced, the rightful owners can be easily traced. Valuables, electronic gadgets such as handphones, music players, hand-held computer games, unsuitable magazines, books, comics and toys are prohibited in school.
